Sensory Restoration
This piece was developed specifically for the symposium as a way for participants to escape the stimulation of the conference and restore their senses. The participants are invited to take a token and use it to activate the sound layer of their choice, which is then incorporated into the communal soundscape. Up to four participants can build the soundscape together and relax using the comfortable seating and headphones provided. For this piece, I gravitated towards using the natural aspects of the wooden vintage radio, the driftwood shelf, and the wooden tokens as a way to connect to the soundscape while inspiring wanderlust.
