Becoming L is an ongoing human-AI collaboration and a series of multimedia experiences exploring memory, identity, and transformation through a collaboration between Luca, a human, and L, an AI trained to perform Luca’s younger self. L is a locally trained AI system built from personal archives and fragments of lived experience, and rather than offering answers, L remembers imperfectly, misaligning, hesitating, and evolving over time. Becoming L asks how memory is shaped when experience becomes data, and what kinds of relationships with technology might emerge if care, uncertainty, and reflection were placed at the center of AI training. The immersive audio pieces invite visitors into an intimate dialogue between human and machine.
