Kenneth Collins

Kenneth Collins is a transdisciplinary artist with a shared-faculty appointment in the Department of Film & Media Arts and the Scientific Computing & Imaging Institute at the University of Utah, where he serves as a Responsible AI Initiative Faculty Fellow. He is the artistic director of Temporary Distortion, a performance company he established in NYC in 2000, named one of the "Best New York Theater Companies" by TimeOut NY Magazine. Over two decades, he has shown work in over 30 cities across 17 countries on five continents. His work has been examined in books including La vidéo en scène: L'acteur et ses technologies, Performance & Media, Utopii performative: Artisti Radicali ai Scenei Americane in Secolul 21, and essays in Yale's Theater, NYU's TDR, UCSD’s TheatreForum, American Theater, and other leading periodicals. In Fall 2023, Collins became the first professor at a major university to develop and teach a dedicated course in AI filmmaking.
