Laleh Mehran

Laleh Mehran creates immersive digital and physical worlds that delve into the shifting spaces between culture, belief, and knowledge. Through layered metaphors and visual systems drawn from science and technology, her work investigates how meaning is built and transformed. Mehran received her MFA from Carnegie Mellon University. Her work has been exhibited in the U.S. and internationally, including at ISEA (UAE), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, FILE (Brazil), ACT Festival (South Korea), MASS MoCA, Mattress Factory, Carnegie Museum of Art, Vanderbilt University, Georgia Museum of Art, Andy Warhol Museum, Denver Art Museum, DIVERSEartLA, 404 Festival (Argentina), Next 5 Minutes (Netherlands), European Media Arts Festival (Germany), Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Currents New Media (Santa Fe), Pittsburgh Biennial, and Alfred University. She has received grants from Creative Capital (subRosa collective), the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, West Virginia Commission on the Arts, and the U.S. Embassy in Bahrain. Mehran is Professor of Art and Technology at The Ohio State University, living between Denver and Columbus.
