Hear Together II
Hear Together II is an installation that makes beating hearts tangible through auditory feedback made by a custom-built electroacoustic instrument. Heartbeats are detected in real-time from EKG as it is recorded from one or two participants. The heartbeat detectors drive stepper motors connected to custom-designed percussion mallets. Each person’s EKG controls only one motor, thus a duet of interlocking rhythms will be made if two people participate together.
