Mingyong Cheng is a visual artist and creative technologist based in San Diego, and a PhD candidate at UC San Diego. Their practice integrates generative AI, real time audiovisual systems, and interactive media to examine perception, memory, and ecological imagination. Six Seasons is a collaborative project led by composer Lei Liang with oceanographer Joshua Jones. Building from a speculative soundscape, Cheng creates a visual interpretation that extends the work into speculative Arctic landscapes, translating environmental traces and seasonal rhythms into poetic moving image through AI assisted systems and interactive pipelines.
